Be respectful: there is zero tolerance for sexual/sexist comments, racism, bigotry or any hate speech, including in usernames.

Write for the Beginner: The overarching goal of this wiki is to document and preserve the craft, which means making it as accessible as possible. Pages should be well organized. Content should be clear and to the point. Japanese words should be translated to English or linked to an entry in the glossary.

Separate practice from opinion: Contributors should separate commonly accepted practice from anecdote and opinion. For example, “chisels are typically sharpened using water stones. Easily available brands include King and Shapton” is fine because it describes a practice and gives examples, while “chisels are best sharpened using Naniwa stones” is not.
